I decided a long time ago that I wanted to be creative. Growing up I didn’t have access to a lot of museums, studios, concerts, etc., only my pink radio and the floor model TV. Well that was enough to get me started. I loved listening to music but television and film was vastly my favorite part of growing up.

The fascination started when I would watch old westerns with my parents. Film making…..ah, that’s where my attention would draw for hours. I could watch a movie over and over and over again. I would try to analyze the director’s thoughts in my head. Why did he or she choose that angle?, why that take?, how did they do that effect? Watching films would simply amaze me. Every aspect of making a film inspired me in many ways, thus I pursued this career path.

I started booking jobs as a production assistant, camera assistant, etc. It was so exciting to meet people who also had goals and aspirations for this crazy industry. I later became an Assistant Editor, then Editor for TV commercials, Short Films and Music Videos.

Connecting scenes to cleverly tell a story is so intriguing. Seeing the Director’s vision, watching the actors live vicariously through a character, choosing sound to help move a story, it all makes sense to me now. I then stepped into the Director’s role and directed my first project. The journeys to come will be amazing.
